Knox- List of Grand nml Traverse Jurors, An From the Atlanta Constitution. THE FAIR. Atlanta's Great Annal Exposition. What the North Georgia Stock anti Fair Association Promises—A Glance at the Many Attractions. We are going to have a big fair. It trill begin on Mondan, the 21st day ef October, and run through the week. It is not saying too much to pre dict that it will by all odds bo the largest and best fair ever held in Georgia. Everybody who knows the men Who are in charge of tho North Georgia Stock and Pair Association knows that they will not fail in this project. The attractions of the fair are to he plainly stated to all the people of Georgia and tho surround ing States, and they will be sure to come and see for themselves. Next week the premium list of the Associ ation will be out They will be cir culated almost every where, and will attract exhibitors from all quarters of tho country. These lists will show that the aggregate of premiums of fered is ♦14,500, which will be most judiciously distributed in tho vari ous departments. Besides the regu lar premiums offered by the associa tion, there will be a large number of special premiums offered by individ uals. The enterprise and public spirit of Atlanta never had a better chance for display. Tho reputation of the city is largely at stake in the fair, and its success will be a groat honor to Atlanta. As it is now ar ranged, it cannot fail. A very bril liant programme of varied attrac tions is offered and will be carried out to the letter. Among tho many > attract entertain the crowds ville has a crack company she propo ses to put in, while Charleston will send us two of her superb military organizations. Others are thinking of coming. All the cities in Geor gia will probably be represented. Augusta, Macon, Savannah, Colum bus, Griffin, Albany, all are looking at the fine military prizes with a wist ful eye, and nearly every one of them will put in an honest effort tor it. The finest military display know in Georgia since the war may be expect ed with confidence. * Besides the $1,300 in premiums for white companies there will he $175 offered for the best drilled ne gro company, and when we say there will be a dozen entries for these pre miums we do not exaggerate. The velociped tournament for boys will bring out all the little fellows >with their “flying machines.” There will be a handsome lot of prizes ranged for hoys between 4 and 12 years. They may come* from any where. These tournaments arc cre ating great interest wherever they are had. They will interest thousands of children who will be present, and thousands of older people who love to see tho little ones have o good time. We did not speak of tho mule race with the other races, for it is a diff erent species of fun. It is richer than any horse race ever run. There is something so poetically uncertain, and so fascinatingly wild about a mule race that he who sees one nev er wants to see any other stylo of ra cing. Fifty dollars is offered for the mule who leads the race. Every man who has a pet mule may now win fame both for himself and his pet. There may be twenty entries, for there’s lots of luck in a mule race, and $50 is worth running for. The negro foot race promises to be one of the richest points in the whole list of attractions. Twenty-five dol lars will be given to tho darkey who cun most effectually “get up and get.” No race will cause more merriment or create more real excitement than this. We have named a few of the special attractions. Besides these there will be a full list of premiums for stock, agricultural products, fowls and all the tilings usually exhibited at a fair. The premium list is by far the best aud most judicious ever offered in i the State. Arrangements will bo made for remarkably low rates on all the railroads in tho State and many outside of it. There will also be tho cheering assurance that no matter how many people come they will all find pleasant accommo dations in Atlanta. The Associa tion will so arrange it that all who como will find ample room and at very low prices. Already we can as sure the publib that goo'd board and lodging can be had here during the fair at ono dollar a day. The fair grounds will be put in perfect order, and will look better than ever be fore. Trains and street cars will be run to the very gates every ten minutes, and if we have thirty thousand visi tors we cun easily accommodate them. The fair is over two months off, but its success is certain. Letters of inquiry are received by the Secretary. Let everybody come. Wo will be ir them. gust Term, Folk Superior Conn, 1878, CITANI) JURORS—-FIRST WEEK.
