THE
WEEKLY
r suisr.
1770 WET YORK. 1870
Eight .‘Xi hundred and seventy-six is the
Cciitenn a! year. It is also the year in which
an Oppo ition House of Representatives, the
first since the war, will be in power at Wash
ington ; and the year of the twenty-third elec
lion of a President of the United States. All
of thee ■ . vents are sure to be of great interest
and importance, especially the two latter; and j
all of them and everything connected with!
them ill he fully and freshly reported and
expounded in Tux Son.
The Opposition House of Representatives,
taking up the line of inquiry opened years ago
hy The Sox, will sternly and diligently inves
tigate the corruptions and misdeeds of Grant's
administration ; and it will, it ia to be hoped,
lay the foundation for a now and bett< r period
in cur national history. Of all this The Sun i
will contain complete and sc urate accounts,
furnishing its readers with early and trustwor
thy information upon those absorbing topics.
The twenty-third Presidential election, with
the preparations for it, will be memorable as
dividing upon Grant's aspirations for a third
term of power and plunder, and still more as
deciding who shall be the candidate of the
party of Reform, and as electing that candi
date. Concerning all those subjects, those
who read Tue Sun will have the constant
means of being thoroughly well ir formed.
Tiie Weeklv Sun, which has attained a
circulation of over eighty thousand copies, al
ready has its readers in every State and Ter
ritory, and we trust that the year 1876 will
see their numbers doubled. It will continue
to be a thorough newspaper. All tho general
news of tho day will be found in it, condensed
when unimportant, at full length when of mo
ment ; and always, wo trust, treated in a clear,
interesting and instructive manner.
It is our aim to make the Weekly San the
best family newspaper in the world, and we
shall continue to give in its columns a large
amount of miscellaneous read in-, ."has sto
ries, tales, poems, scientific inleiliguuce and
agricultural information, for which we aro not
able to make room in our daily edition. Tho
agricultural department especially is ono of its
prominent features The fashions are also reg
ularly reported iu its columns; and so are tho
markets of every kind.
The Wkeklt Sun, eight pages, with fifty
six broad columns, is only $1 20 a year, pos
tage prepaid. As this price barely repays tho
cost of the paper, no discount can be made
from this rate to clubs, agents postmasters, or
anyone.
The Daily Sun, a large four page newspa
per of twenty-eight columns, gives all the
news for two cents a copy. Subscription, pos
tage prepaid, 55c a month or s(>.so a year.

Dr. J. S. Pemberton— Dear Sib: I havo
used your extract of Stillingia for a chron
ic skin affection of many years standing, which
made a cure after all other remedies had fail

worst cases of scrofula, secondary, syphilictic
diseases, rheumatism, kidney and liver affect

known it to fail in the irest desperate cases. I
consider it the greatest bleed purifier known.
