Some portions of the evidence are rare and racy, and os the matter is still attracting considerable attention alt over the State, wo doubt not that our subscribers will enjoy tho perusal of so important a document. As the business men of Atlanta seem to prefer living in the fldjocent towns, we would suggest to them that Conyers would suit them exactly. They can and oomfortablly here, have their children educated at good schools, and get to Atlanta as early in the morning as they choose. Let a few hun dred of them come down hero and they will be well-pleased. A writer in the Rockdamc ReoWer suggests a rather novel plat for instituting a Bank in that city. Wc paid a visit to the Cemetery, yes terday morning, in company with a friend, and found the grounds in first class order. The walks and graves have all been carefully weed ed and swept, and the entire enclosure is now as neat and clean as a lady’s parlor. We learn that the credit for these improvements is due to Mr. Jack Wood, and our citizens certainly owe him a vote of thanks for the pains-taking way in which he has performed his work. With very little trouble the owners of the lots will now be able to keep the Cemetery in fine condition. [COMMUNICATED.] EniTons Reoistkr :— At the last meet ing of the Honey Creek Agricultural Society, of Rockdale county, there was but little buai n ess of importance tranSacted, more than the completion of a Premium List for the year 1876, and the adoption of some resolutions of fered by W. W. Walcott, which were of no minor importance, if strictly adhered to. W. W. Walcott also read an essay, showing the re sults that wcaild naturally follow if wo were to act in compliance with the resolutions. He encouraged Southern industry, an l Southern Manufactory—to raise our supplies, live eco nomically, in order that we may dispell the clouds of darkness that now overshadow a land once prosperous and happy, but at the present presets rather a gloomy aspect. W. L. Peek gave a short but very interest ing speech; father on the "jocose” order. Mr. Peek is just the man to get up something lively; but at the same time, his remarks are none the less important. Prof. McClelland from the Conyers Maleand Female High School honored us with his pres ence, and in a very fluent and eloqn? z: style drew a picture of the crisis that is now upon us. He gave the causes, and showed the ef fects ; and gave the Remedy necessary to be implied, in order for the healing of the nation. Dr. J. A. Stewart, one of our Professional members, in his usual easy manner, gave his views as tc the state of things as they now ex ist, and his opinioi' as to the ftitnre, which he thinki will be brighter than is predicte I by some.
