FUSE LECTUhES TO TJIE CITIZENS OF
ATHENS AND VICINITY.
The'inlroductory lecture of this important
and interesting course of Public Lectures by
the Faculty of the Slate College of Agriculture
and Mechanics Arts, was delivered on Fri
day night last by the President of this insti
tution, Prof. L.'H. Charbonnier. Subject:
“The Atmosphere.” Ilis discourse was very
kindly received and highly appreciated by a
large audience of our citizens (ladies and gen
tlemen) and the students of the University.
AH the propeitics of “the Air” were fully
illustrated by experiment and by demonstra
tion. The practical uses of haromettir and
hygrometer were fully explained as indicat
ing the probable changes in the weather.
