The Dalton Enterprise has the fol
lowing remarkable accident:
On last Saturday evening, as the
State road passenger train was passing
out of the depot at a rapid rate of
speed, it ran over a two nude wagon
containing Air. Monroe AIcGhee, two
ladies and a child, from Murray coun
ty. demolishing the wagon, killing one
the mules, throwing a lady high in the
air, and all of them, including the
wagon, down into a deep ditch. One
of the ladies had her collar bone frac
tured, and the gentleman received a
wound on the head. It was the great*
est wonder that they were not all in-
stautly killed. Several gentlemen
who saw the accident stated that a
freight train standing in the railroad
yard prevented the engineer from
seeing the wagon while passing around
the curve.
