THE EABTH MADE TO GIVE FORTH ITS RICHES.
Experiments have demonstrated that ofthe ten Mineral Elements which constitute tite ashes
of plants, the presence of each and every one is essential to their perfect growth and develop
ment ; and, as crops extract them annually, no land can be permanently fertile
UNLESS THEY BE RESTORED TO THE SOIL.
This fact Is now so patent to our farmors that thousands of tons ore annually sold in this mar
ket. Recognizing the importauce of this intefest to onr section of country, I have secured the
Agency ofthe following old and Standard Fertiliser^, which the farmers are invited to call, in
spect and prioe before buying elsewhere:

Messes. J. O. Matuewson it Co., Augusta, Ga.—DeabSirs: 1 have ugedthe Pacific Guano

manured three rows with Cotton Seed only. I then manured three rows with fifteen pounds of
Pacific Gqauo and Cotton Seed, using the same quantity of Barry’s and Patapsco mixed with
Cotton Seed on tho aam6 qnautity of ground, which was poor luullato land, all the same kind mul
all treated alike. ..

The rows were 170 yards long, and I used at therato of four bushels qf Cotton Seed per acre.
Cotton was all picked on sunny afternoons, I being present and weighed it myself.
The experiment was tuado to ascertain what Guano was best suited to use with Grccu Cotton
