Have you ever seen or heard of men
manufacturing solid granite for build
ing purposes, if not, call on VIr. Oat-
man, on Lumpkin street, and see for
yourself. We gather the following
facts from the Sunny South in regard
to this new discovery. Four parts of
sand and one of cement are mixed,
and then moistened with a snpona-
cious solution to a proper consistency
for the moulds, which are made to
any size or shape, and keyed together.
When packed full and hard, these
moulds are taken off and'wc haven
solid block of granite, which being
drenched with water, becomes as hard
and flinty as the granfte from our
mountains and hills. The process is
exceedingly simple, but its results are
astonishing.
