Why dont tbo proper authorities
move in the matter of .selecting a
candidate to represent our county in
the next legislature? It is only about
one month until the flection and it
is high time something was done,
looking to tho selection of the prop
er man for representative. Wo are
sorry to tee such a tendency to scrub
races in the selection of the next
General Assembly. This is. all
wrong. For if there ever was a time
when the people of Georgia should
be jndicions in the choice of mem
bers of the legislative, it certainly is
now. , The work to be done by the
next legislature will be of a most deli
cate and important character, such
as will require for its successful ac
complishment, the greatest amount of
wisdom uiid experience. Afuch has
keen and is being said against nomi
nating conventions and, a great deal
of which we think is wholly unjust
and without true foundation. It is
"true nominating conventions have
sometimes and in some instances been
attended tyilk fraud and such action
as was detrimental to the best inter

Edmonds to prevent abases in foe
sale of postage stamps and’stamped
envelopes, provides that no post
master or deputy postmaster!, or other

shall sell or dispose cf the dime, oth
