Read it and heed its sugguestions. —We were pleased to moot in our sanctum, this week our former town man, Rev. A. J. Harvey. Jlr. When you attend Court next week bring us that two dollars. —One school boy cut another with a pocket-knife on Wednesday last, in Buena Vista. This is the first step to the ga'lows . boys, stop before you take another in that frightful direc tion. —Mr. Easoti still has Control ot that excellent hotel, the Trench House. If any body knows how to run a hotel, Mr. Eason does. When you go to Ann ribus do not forget to stop at the French Iloasc. Fare good, rates moderate, bid room ac commodations excellent. —We are very g’ad to learn that our young friend and former county man has connected himself with the great grocery house of A. Hirsch, in Anicricus, where he will be pleased to serve his old friends and custo mers. He is an energetic young man and deserves success. A law will probably be passed by the next Legislature, abolishing coun ty towus, stove pipe hats, cigars and store bought clothes. The many friends of Mr. Wiley Jones will be glad to know that he lias connected himself with Mr. Louis Cohen’s Dry Goods House. Mr. Jones has many friends in this county who will patronize him. —-It will be seen by reference to our eolumn of announcements that Mr, W. M, Williams lias been biougbt forward by hie friends for the position of Tax Collector of Marion Connty. —r-We have been told by a welhin ioimed gentleman, that there are three white Radicals in the eastern portion Marion county. We hope he is mis taken. He has given us the names and ■we will see bow they vote in tbe appro aching election. —Mr. Mitson Melton lias stopped taking the Argus. On Monday last, Mr. David .fames showed us thirty-five acres of upland, (some of it very old) planted in corn this year, from whifeh he gathered a few days ago,- seven hundred bushels. They are as thoroughly cquiped for the bus iness, as any establishment of the kind in Southern Georgia. Wo were pleased to meet Mr. J. K. Prince, who has moved from Dawson. Retrenchment is a green persimmon which the merchants of a certain city, are chewing industriously to contract their stomachs to the dimensions of their provisions.
