At 12 o’clock the election was progressing quietly at Rutledge and Madison. The Star will gvie result the next w eek. The surveying corps of the Covington and Macon railroad are is engaged in searching for a good crossing over the Al cova river, and we learn will probably make it at a point between White’s fac¬ tory and Barnes’ Shoals. We hope to be able to give the exact location in our next issue. City Ordinance. Resolved by the Mayor and City Council of Covington : That the Marshal be, and is hereby instructed to impound .-til calves run¬ ning at large in the streets and al¬ leys, or on the public square of said city alter the lOib day of May, 1886, for which he shall receive the im*» pfunding fees prescribed in the case of cows impounded.
