City Tax Notice.
N .tice is hereby given that the City Tax
Books will be open from May 1st up to and in¬
cluding the first day of June, 1901.
Under the new charter all property, situated
within the incorporate limits of Covington, is
subject to taxation, and the owners of such
property are required to make returns of the
same to the City Clerk. April 3, 1901.

City Ordinance.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of
the city of Covington, and notice is hereby
given by authority of the same. That on and
after July i, 1901, any person or persons, who
shall give away, what is known as TRADING
STAMPS, shall he subject to pay a license
not to exceed One Hundred Dollars.
Any person violating this ordinance, shall,
on conviction, be punished by fine or impris
onment, either or both, at the discretion of the
Mayor, or Mayor and Council.

Notice is hereby given that every male in
habitant of the City of Covin gton, between

required to pay a Street Tax of

Be it ordained hy the Mayor and Council of
the city rf Covington, and it is hereby ordain
ed by authority of the same. That the or¬
dinance allowing persons to stake cows ou the
streets of Covington, is hereby repealed.
Be it further ordained, That it shall not be
lawful for any person or persons to stake cows
on any of the streets or alleys in this city.
Any persons violating this ordinance, shall, 00
conviction, be punished by fine or imprison
ment, either or both, at the discretion ol the
Mayor, or Mayor and Council
