I11 old times men were wont to
exalt creeds and see that their own
souls were saved. Bnt we
come to a new conception of God,
the conception which John had,
that God is love, a father, and as a
consequence we have a new con
ception of earth and heaven. Men
were once afraid of God, but when
Christ came he gave the world a
new idea. Men have now a fuller
recognition of God formerly, and
they know that there is not one
being into which God breathed t ,
life but is very dear to Him and is ,
His child. i
