general despair delivered himsell of the

My humble client is a man whom you
well know; you and lie played on the

and your affection for each other could
only have been me.isured by strength

overtaken youv early friend. The ghost
of want stands kne eking at Ids door.
The chilly blasts of winter come whistle

comforts of life. He—” “Stop, stop!’>
said the debtor; “munch of this sad
speech. Aside for the sympathy f->r my

Notice to Debtors.
The depressed condition of our
exchequer—the necessities of onr
, family—the limited time in
which we will have to gel our ef
fets together, in order to get to
a point where we will be enabled
to present a nickleand get a pint
of meal in return —the justice of
our claims, etc, have compelled
us to put our accounts in the
hands of those who are legally
authotized to collect claims. Re
inenvber the law of the land is,
that whoever takes a paper from
the office of delivery, is bound
by law to pay for it.

How to Increase Your Income.
Just at this season ot the year there are,
among our readers, those looking for em
ployment for the next six months. We
have lately received from L. E, Brown &
Cos., tlie well-known manufacturers of
specialties for agents to handle, a request
to put them in communication witli one or
more suitable persons in this locality, to
act as agents in introducing several of their
patent household articles to this communi
ty, and after consideration, we take this
method to comply with their request. Tlie
firm are manufactuers of a large number
of household articles, which they introduce
to the public liy means of agents, having
sometimes as many 1,000 persons in their
employ. The particular articles which
they seek to introduce here, at this time,
are: Brown’s Peerless Sifter, generally
acknowledged to be the best in the world
of which nearly one million were sold dur
ing the last year; the Kitchen Queen, the
latest and best invention in Coil Oil Lamps,
aud tlie only absolute Sale Lamp made;
the Centennial Cake and Bake Pan, an ar
