Neither did they go into ! tho Johnson caucus, and did not know the remit of that caucus until | some time after the vote of tho Har ris delegates had been east for Gen. Golquitt. Thu truth is tho vote of Hariis county was oast for Colquitt before Johnson's name was with drawn, and before Colquitt had a “two-lhirds’’ vote secured, and in stead of “jeers and laughs,” there were cheers'and Hurras for Harris county. It will thus be seen that this little joke, without a misstate mentof facts, cannot have inference to the Harris delegates. Chops. —lt i-s indeed gratifying to hear the Haltering reports of the crops in this section. The farmers inform us that both corn and are as good as the land will produce. This indicates that there is u better time not far ahead, if no unseen dis aster befalls the crops. Corn will be cheap, and wo fear that cotton will not bring a remunerative price. How ever cheap bread and meat is w hat the country needs more than anything else. Mix James Luttrel! informs as that in the Wavcrly Hall District the crops are unusually good, and if he continues to have good seasons, that with il :30 mules lie will make thirty bales of c itton ~cd three hundred bushels of corn.
