Tub Organ. —The Baptist Sun

from the manner in which they have
taken hold of it, seems to be tn earn

will cost s£.9o and is the “golden
tongue” Beatty’s make. It is five

and three feet ten and a half inches
long. It has five octaves, three sets
reeds and twelve stops. A committee
of young ladies have been appointed
to solicit contributions for the pay
ment for it and already about two
htindrorl and fifty dollars have been
obtained. The church and school
have both long felt the need of such
an instrument and it is hoped that
its tunes will soon be beard.
Don’t Forget it. —Gol. Blanford
and John Peabody; Esq., of Colum

Convention, question next Tuesday.
They both favor a Convention, and
■will give their reasons for doing so
Let those who ar. opposed to it

heads and wonder how they are to
get their spring lavender breeches.
—J. T. Williams, Esq., will take
Bix boarders and furnish them with

—Some of the Hamilton belles
think of mobbing the local editor of
the Columbus Enquirer. The “gal
lants” think it was mighty funny.

—Some neoplo can’t wait very
well, but if they will wait or
three weeks, they’ll hear some fine
music from that new organ.
—Some of tho Hamilton belles
have been informed by their parents
that the price of kerosino js higher
than it used to be.
A young lady from Cataula writes
to us to know' how to “find her
sweet-heart out.” The best way we
know of to find him out is to call
when he is not in.
—A young man near Hamilton,
who sent on fifty cents and a postage
stamp for “a receipt for writing with
out pen or ink,” received this laconic
reply: “Write with a pencil.”
—When three good little boys get

are that there will be either a tight, a
window broken, or some stray dog
will have a pan tied to his tail.
—The singing was excellent last

—•‘The old maids, God bless

They have just received a full line of

remarkably low rates. If you want
to get bargains, call on Gamble &

—Our most excellent and popular
deputy sheriff has presented our of

outburst of the noble generosity ol
soul that is so characteristic with
Japer, and not in payment of sub

“paid list” to 1378.

is as fine as any in the State. Be
sure to call on him when you go to
Columbus.

Gough <fc Cos. advertise their goods
for cost and they mean exactly what
they say. They are not doing this
in order to make a run but from the
fact that they are determined to
close out their stock. They will re
plenish their stock with staple goods
in order to keep a snpply on hand
until they sell out. There is no
humbug in this, and we advise m<
of our readers to call on them when
they want any thing in the dry goods
line. If you are not dealt with fairly
you can charge it up to ns.
You would he astonished to sec
