It ia estimated that the loss on bui.dings will amount to sls 000, inensnce $7,000, while the loas on stock is $15,000, with $8,500 inauracce. The whole front on Bridge street was burn ed,and the fire engine waa out of order, as is usual on such oecasiooa. Mr. F. F. Adams on Friday last discov ered the foot prints of a dog made forty years ago. —Where foxes abound, rabbits doth mnch less abound, is the experience of the little animal hunters hereabouts. —Tba recent severe weather has been very destructive to blfda, as a great many have been fonnd dead—doubtless frozen to death. —Mnch sickness in onr community. Mrs. A. N. Gordon, Mr. Tom Hobbard and child have been quite sick for sometime. Pneu monia seems to be the complaint. —Mrs N. &. Hirvey, who sometime ago fell disloesting her win* and receiving oth er injuries, is slowly improving. They will oecnpy the Turner, hou<a where they.also pro pose to do • nainese. Messrs Flournoy and Hunt have illus trated whet energy and enterprise will do in attracting and building trade. Hay den, of Talbotton and Germany who is the moet travelled toneorial artist in America, having used the shears and razor iu every state of the union. He is a poet as well os an artist, and can shave with ease and write poet'j in a half dozen languages.
