Is being sown in consequence.

bushels of seed oats. This shows
what a live farmer’s club will do for
a community,
Cataula is building up with a rap

of Hamilton at no distant day.

Mr, W. E, Mumford, editor of the
Talbotton New Era, had on exhibi¬
tion at the Talbot county fair several
coops of Plymouth Rock fowls, of
his own raising, that would do cred.t
to any exhibition.
The young ladies of the Recrea¬
tion Society gave an excellent enter¬
tainment at the College Friday even¬
ing, that was highly enjoyed by all
present. We hope they may be in¬
duced to repeat it.
The Talbot county Fair was a suc¬
cess in every particular. Harris
county ought to hold one just like it.
What say our”farmers ?

It was in Lowx ll, M iss. An Harm ot
fire wan sounded, and the engine was rap

of the horses took fright, pranced wil :ly
about, and ran the engine against the

ribs broken. For three weeks the physi¬
cians doctored him. Then a friend
brought him some Perry Davis’s Pain
Killer. On being nibbed with this, he
was soon well. Best liniment in the world.

EVERYBODY'S GOING TO
COLUMBUS,
To See the Handsomest Woman
in the World,and22Perf orming
Elephant «, 1,000 Wild Beasts,
Colossal Circus in Two Bings,
and Grand Free Procession of
Industry.
The Great Forepaugh Show exhib¬
its at Columbus, Thursday, Novem¬
ber 9th. In addition to a grandly
great circus in two rings, and a mon¬
ster menagerie of 1,000 wild beasts,
all transported by four great railway
trains, there is to be a great, grand,
free Procession on the day Fore
paugh exhibits there. Every town in
this county will be represented in
this huge,high way,holiday parade. In
addition to this, the great pageants
of “Cleopatra” and “Lalla Rookh’’
will be presented in the show parade.
This latter spectacle is described as
being the most gorgeous ever seen
upon the streets of an American city.
The loveliest lady in the land has
been secured to personify the beauti¬
ful Eastern Princess, Lalla Rookh,
whom poets describe as “more beau¬
tiful than any of those heroines whose
names and loves embellish the songs
of Persia Hindostan; more perfect
than the divinest images of the House
of Azor.” In this gorgeous, glitter¬
ing, Oriental pageant, Lalla Rookh
is seen reclining in her sumptuous
howdah, borne aloft upon the back
of a ponderous and kingly elephant)
the largest on this continent, whose
embroidered velvet trappings touch
the ground; a fair young female slave
sits fanning the Princess through the
rose colored veils, with feathers of
argus-pheasant’s wings, and the lovely
troup of Tartarian and Cashmerean
maids ot honor ride upon each side
of the Princess upon small Arabian
horses. Rajahs Mo:ul Lords follow,
accompanied by Cavaliers in costly
armor, mounted upon
“Steeds with their housings of rich sil¬
ver spun, in
Their chains and poitrtls glittering
the sum
And Camels tufted o’er with Yemen’s
Shells, thoir light-ton¬
Shaking in every brei ze
ed bolls.”
In keeping with the author of Lalla
Rookh’s description of this grand,
glittering lavish and luxuriant spec¬
tacle, are seen the Guards of the
great Kedar Kahn, with their silver
battle-axes and maces of gold, fol¬
lowed by the Great Nazir, or Cham¬
berlain of the Harem and the retinue
of the Court of Delhi, mounted upon
elephants,camels and Arabian horses,
decorated in Oriental trappings, and
bearing aloft the royal standards—
the entire scene recalling to the be¬
holder the glories and the grandeur
of the distant Indies, the whole form¬
ing the most magnificent, pictur¬
esque and realistic Oriental specta¬
cle ever presented in the New World,
requiring the expenditure of a hun¬
dred thousand dollars in its prepara¬
tion, eclipsing all displays of pagean¬
try ever produced by any exhibition,
and in itself worth miles of travel to
behold. Remember, this superb
spectacle is presented daily, between
the hours of 9 and 10 A. M., and is a
great, grand, gorgeous, free public
festival for all to look at and admire.

They Do Say
That the stock of boots and shoes
of J. Marion Estes & Son., is equal i
in point of merit to any in the city
of Columbus.
That they make a specialty of fine
work, and their experience in the
trade enables them to tell a good ar¬
ticle in buying, and risk • nothing in
a full guarantee when selling.
That they are content with a fair
profit on what they sell, and their
prices are always low.
That their fall styles are now in
and their invitation for an examina¬
tion out.
That you will save money by pat¬
ronizing them when you would clothe
your extremities.
Leads the Procession.
Everybody liked the circus, but
those who got their new suit cfThom
as, the clothier were the best satis¬
fied. They were conscious of having
obtained a bargain, for he sells only
the best and he who gets the best
gets a bargain, and when a man gets
a bargain, he is open to and capable
of more enjoyment than at any other
time. But Thomas not only sells
good clothing at low prices, but is
served by young and handsome.
Salesmen with whom it is a pleasure
to deal. They know how to fit you
up in style and treat you fairly. All
in all, Thomas is the place to buy
durable clothing, for he leads the
procession.

What Eminent Physicians Say.
The celebrated Loudon physician,Eras
inns Wilson, says: “Several cases of
incipient consumption have oorne under
my observation that have been cured by
a timely use of Liebig’s Liquid Extract of
Beef and Tonic Iovigorator.’’
Erasmus Wilson, M D , F R S.
“I haye had the process explained by
which the beef in this preparation is
preserved and rendered soluble by tbe
brandy employed, and I am satisfied this
combination will prove a valuable adjunct
to our pharmacopoeia.
