The following was adopted by. the.
Fourth Quitterly Confeieuco of the
Hamilton Circuit, South Georgia
Conference, at Mt. Zion Church, De¬
cember 6th, 18£ 2.
Wherea.i, in tlie Providence of G a?,
our venerable father in Isa-el Sam-
uel Turrenline has been taken from
life, labor and affliction fo the home
of resi, love and peace, and
Whereagour lamented brother was
for a long while a faithful
among us, we feel it to be meet and
right to oiler to his memory tills, our
last tribute of love and devotion.
“Uncle Sam,” as he was familiarly
called, was a true friend, a wisecoun
selor, a good neighbor, a kind and
affec ionaie husband and a devout
Christian. The l ght of his influence
radiated wherever his face was seen,
or his name heard. It was he, who
exemplified in Irs intercourse with
his brethren, “how good and how
pleasant it is for brethren to dwell to
gether in unity,” and the anointing
of his influence was like the ointment
that was poured upon Aaron’s head,
“that ran down to his beard, and to
the skirls of his garments.” In him
we “marked the perfect man, and be
held the upright,” and “an Israelite
indeed, in whom there was no guile.”
But he is gone to “that country, from
whose bourn no traveler returns,"and
we bow with submission, rejoicing in
the fact that our loss is his eternal
gaid; therefore be it
Rosoived, 1st. That his memory
be embalmed in all of our hearts, and
we ^ pray that the influence for good
s ’ ne out upon soc.ety during his long
an( l consistent life may be as seed
sown ' n g° od bringing forth
much fruit to the go jd of the enurch

Nobody Like Thomas,
Sucli is the verd ct of those who
like good goods and have once tried
this enterprising clothier. '1 he lat
est styles are to be found upon his
shelves and lie sells nothing not war
ranted to wear. It has become a
well known fact that only the best
goods are to be obtained of him and
the demand in consequence, notwith
standing the proverbial small space
requisite for fine packages, has
pelled him, to nearly double the ca
pacity of his large store room, apd
this even is often crowded with the
throngs who believe there is nobody
like Thomas the clothier of West
Georgia. Give hilfi a trial if you want
anything in the shape of
