Rev. R. M. Lockwood has been
appointed pastor of the Hamilton
circuit for anotIter year.. He is a
gentleman of fine address and the
county is fortunate in securing his
ministerial services.
Rev. E. J.. Burch goes to the Ca
taula circuit. We congratulate the
churches of his new charge upon
their good fortune.
Rev. B Maxwell has been unani¬
mously called to the pastorate of the
Hamilton Baptist church for another
year and has accepted the call. He
filled his regular appointment here
last Saturday and Sabbath.
The Goodman Brothers of Colum¬
bus will sell you groceries ,as cheap
and treat you as cleverly as anybody
in that city.
Col. John H. Hamilton has been
a constant advertiser in the Journal
for ten years, and he says it pays.
We can return the compliment by
asserting that it pays to patronize
him. Remember this.
The Journal closes the tenth year
of its successful publication this
week.
Circumstances have necessitated
the postponement of the publication
of our Christmas issue indefinitely. .
The streets are sloppy.
The Chipiey municipal election
passed off harmoniously Wednesday,
resulting in the choice of Col. Chas.
G. Flournoy, mayor, and a full board
of aldermen.
Several series of resolutions upon
the death of Judge Kimbrough are
unavoidably crowded out.
The seed premium of the Jour¬
nal is now ready—one paper foi*
every month in advance lor which
subscription is paid, No seeds will
be given to' i&ckp who only settle for
past dues.
A year’s subscription to a forty
eight column newspaper and a dozen
papers of garden seeds all for one
dollar, ought to give every family in
Harris county their home paperi

—“Five years ago, J. was a dreadful
sufferer from uterine troubles. Hav'
hag exhausted the skill of tl ree phy¬

ed, and so weak I could with difficul¬
ty cross the room alone. I began
taking your “Favorite Prescription”
and using the local treatment rec¬
ommended in your “Common-Sense
Medical Adviser.” In three months I
was perfectly pured: I wrote a let¬
ter to my family paper, briefly men¬
tioning how my health had been re
s.ored, and offering to send the lull
particulars to any one writing me for
them and enclosing a stamped enve¬
lope for reply. I have received over
four hundred letters. In reply, I
have described my case and the
treatment us id, and earnestly advis
them to “do likewise.” From a
great many 1 have received second
lexers of thanks ,‘Stating that they had
commenced the treatment and were
much better already.”

Nobody Like .. Thomas.
Such is the verdict of those v/ho
... like good * goods j and il have once tried . j
this enterjyrising clothier. '1 he lat
est styles are to be found upon his
shelves and he sells nothing not war
ranted to wear, It has become a
well known fact that only the best
goods are to be obtained of him and
the demand it? consequence, aotwith
standing the proverbial small space
requisite for fine packages, has com¬
pelled him to nearly double the ca¬
pacity of his large stcre room, and
this even is often crowded with the
throngs who believe there is nobody
like Thomas the clothier of West
Georgia. Give him a trial if you want
anything in the shape of gentleman’s
apparreJ,from a walking cane to a
weddingsuit. He will suit you in style
prices and fit, and the goods will suit
you in durability and finisi.
