HAMILTON, GEORGIA,
JI MF 24 IPS 4 .
Arrangements ’nave been perfected
for an excursion of Georgia editors
to Baltimore in July. The press as¬
sociation contemplate a trip still fur¬
ther—perhaps to Canada.
Olive Logan, writing from Paris,
says the prince of Wales is more
dissipated than ever. In America a
dissipated young man usually kills
himself or quits his fast living before
he attains the age of the prince.
The New London (Conn.) Day
relates the following incident: “A
narrow escape and a heroic rescue !
occurred on the Northern Railroad
bridge this side of Mountville last
Tuesday night, As the train
swept around the curve the engineer
saw a man and woman on the bridge
directly in his track. There was
no chance to use the brakes, and
he expected to have a frightful ac
cident to report. Just as he was
about to dose his eyes to shut out
the tragedy, the man caught up the
woman, threw her over the rail into
the water below and vaulted over
himself and rescued the woman from
drowning. Those who witnessed this
episode say they never saw a braver
or cooler act in their lives.”
