The Vindicator says that if Lula Hurst could not hold a Harris coun tv cyclone, if she could get the tips of her fingers on it there would be a commotion. Ye?, and after she had waltzed around with it awhile she would come out of the commotion as cool and smiling as it it required no exertion to manage a cyclone. But here, we will say to the Vindica we claim no patent on cyclones, Rev. J. W. Wilson preached a good on at the Baptist church Sunday from the text, “He that hath not the of Christ is none of His.” After clearly and forcibly what the spirit of Chsist he made the application of the text to the hearts the congregation. It produced a line, impression. We hoped for a new jail, but the Grand Jury does not think the finau condition of the county would warrant building one at this time. Last Friday afternoon from four o’clock until nearly sundown a very hea/y hail storm prevailed in the western part of this county, reaching from within three miles of Hamilton to the neighbor!lood of New Hope church near the river. The storm was the most severe of its kind ever known in th.s section, many hail stones as large as hen eggs having fallen. A gentleman who passed the Barnes plantation four miles from town just before night says the hail was still lying on the ground thick enough to hide it. Hundreds of bushels of hail was in sight the next morning, along the track, in places where it had drifted. Gardens in the track of the storm were completely demol j s hed, the hail stones beating the vegetables literally out of the ground and all to pieces. Fruit trees also suffered greatly. A heavy rain also f e u an d a high wind prevailed, doing much damage to fencing. Altogeth¬ er such a storm has never before been known in the county. . „ Job Printing:.
