TRIBUTE OF RESPECT.
In the inscrutable wisdom of the
Great Architect of the Universe it
has pleased Him to remove from our
midst our beloved Brother, John W.
Gamble, a good and faithful member
of our fraternity, a useful citizen to
our community, a devoted husband
and father, he has been taken from
ail . ; . ........
us in t e very prime o .is l e,
when surrounded by tho.-e near and
dear to him, and when the future
seemed bright and promising.
But His ways are mysterious and
we must humbly bow to His will,
“whatever He doeth is well done.”
And while the roid caused by his
death will be difficult to repair, and
the loss to our fraternity, society and
his bereaved family be great, we
must console ourselveswith the thought
that he has been received to a higher
Lodge above, and has but gone to
that home of eternal bliss, to which
sooner or later we all mu^t icllow.
In this we are reminded of the un¬
certainty of things earthly, and that “in
the midst of life, we are in death,”
and the importance of bein'! always
prepared for our departure to that
“undiscovered country from whose
bourne no traveler returns.”
Yet, it is just to memory, that we
express our sentiments in a fitting
manner, therefore, let it be
Resolved, That we deeply sympa¬
thize with his bereaved family in
their sad and irreparable** loss and
conscious of the utter ability of hu¬
man words to soothe their great sor¬
row, commend them to the protect¬
ing care of our Heavenly Father.
Resolved further, That our Lodge
be draped in mourning for the space
of thirty days, and that these resolu¬
tions be spread on a page of our
Record Book and a copy thereof be
furnished to his family and one to The
Hamilton Journal for publication.
