Ofthe virtues of the water of this Spring i! is un

and for which it is s j justly celebrated, leave no
room for question, cavil or doubt.
But it is not alone to the invalid and infirm, that

GEORGIA SULPHUR SPRINGS
Meriwether County, Ga.
WE had intended to open our House on th
15th of May, hut the repeated application
for rooms at lire White and Red Sulphur, induced
us to throw open the house on the Ist day of May,
and we are no v receiving company, and shall be
rcyty at all times to welcome our friends to the
enjoyment of all we can contribute to their health
and comfort.
Our LARGE NEW HOTEL BUILDING is
nearly completed. We shall be able to use it by
the first of J tine, and think it will be difficult after
that time to crowd us as we were crowded las
season.
e have secured the services of excellent cooks
and other assistants, and shall continue to give <Air
own persona! supervision to the establishment.
Om Mineral waters are unsurpassed. The nu ’
meroua eases in which they have been fairly tested
during the past season, leave no room to question
their efficacy in all the distressing maladies tor
which ‘ua<i hc.en heretofore u highly recom
mended. We have hail visitors with us who
came from Saratoga, from the Water Cures of the
East,!’ rom the celebrated Cooper’s Weil of the I

Sulphur Water has been eminently scrviceablc
anii on their testimony we rely, to sustain our con,
vietior. that the afflicted among us have a place ol
resold at home, equal if not superior to any of them
To the stranger, who has not visited our place,

with any other tanning district in the South.

a Purgative Medicine is not more or less required,
and much suffering might be prevented, if n
harmless but effectual cathartic were mom freely
used. No person can f. el well while a costive ha
bit of body prevail?; besides it soon generates seri
ous and otlcri fatal diseases, which might have been
avoided by the timely and judicious use of a good
purgative. This is alike true of Colds, Feverish
symptoms, and Bilious derangements. They all
tend to become or produce the deep seated arid
formidable distempers wnich load the hearses aII
over the land, lienee a reliable family physic s
of the first importance to the public health, and
tins pill has been perfected with consummate skill
to meet that demand. An extensive trial of its
virtues by Physicians, Professors, and Patients, ha
shown results surpassing anything hitherto knowu
ofany medieine. Cures have been effected beyond
belief, were they not substantiated by persons o
such exalted position and character as to forbi
the suspicion of untruth.
Among the many eminent gentlemen who have
testified in lavor of these Pills, we may mention:
Di\ A A Hates. Analytical Chemist of Boston ,
and Stale Assaverof Massachusetts, whose high
Prolessional character is endorsed by the—
Hon. Edvvakd Everett. Senator of the United
States,
Robert C. VVinthrop, Ex-Speaker of the
House of Representatives.
Abbott Lawrence, Minister Plen. to Ergland
John li Fitzpatrick, Cath. Bishop of Boston
also, —
Hr. J R Chilton, Practical Chemist of New
York City, endoised bv
Hon. \V L Marcy, Secretary of State.
Wm. B Astor, the richest man in.Amcrica.
S Lelano is. co.. Proprietors ol the Aletropo
tan Hotel, und others.
Did space permit, we could give many hundred
certificates from nil parts where the Pills have been
used, but evidence even more convincing than the
experience ol eminent public men, is found in thei
effects upon trial.
I heee Pills, the result of long investigation and
study, are offered to the public as the best and
irwal complete which the present slate of medical
science can afford. They are compounded, not ol
the drugs themselves, but of the medical virtues of
only Vegetable remedies extracted by chemical
process in a state of purity, and combined togethei
in such a manner as to ensure the best results.
Tina system ol composition for medicines has bee*
fouud in-the Cherry Pectoral and Pills both,to
produce a more efficient remedy than had hitherto
been obtained by any process. The reason is
perfectly obvious. W hilo by the old mode ol com
position, every medicine is burdened with more or
less of acrfmonkuis and- Injurious qualities, by this
each individual virtue only that is desired for the
curative effect is present. A I the inert and ob
noxious qualities ol each substance employed are
left behind, the curative virtues only being retain
ed. Mcncc it is self-evident tho “effects should
prove, as they have proved, more purely remedial,
und the Pills a surer, more powerful antidote to
disease than any other medicine known to the
world.
As it is frequently expedient that my medicines
ehou|d bo taken under the counsel of on attending
physician, and asliecould not properly judge af a
remedy without knowing its composition, I have
supplied (he accurate Formula! by which both my
Pectoral and Pi!> arc kivoii n To the who’* bode o’
Practijot ners in Ih United Stajse and British A
mefican Provinces. II however there should be
any one who lias not received them, they will be
piomptl v forwarded by mail at bis request.
Os all the Patent Medicines that arc ottered, how
few would be taken if their composition was
known? Their life cons st3 in Ibeir mystery. 1
have no mvslerys.
The composition of’my preparations is laid open
to ali men, and all who are competent to judge on
the snbject freely acknowledge their convictions o
their intrinsic merits. The Cherry Peel oral was
pronounced by scientific men to be a wonderful
medicine before its effects were known. Many
eminent physicians have declared the same thing!
of my Fills, and even more confidently, and are
willing to certify, that their anticipations were
more than realized by their effects upon trial.
I hey operate by their powerful influence on the
internal viscera to purify the blood and stimulate
it into healthy action—remove the obstructions of
the stomach, bowels, liver, and other organs of the
body, restoring ilieir irregular action to health, amt
by corrciing, .wherever they may exist, such de
rangeinentf, as are the first origin of disease.
