There is no good reason why we should not hare

Down by " Magnolia's ” winding stream,
Beneath the ivy and the bay,
Where seldom gleams the bright sunbeam,
Whefe ev'uing breezes gently play ;
A “Rosa’s" sweet and smiling face,
There left its image on my heart.
Is modest beauty here I trace —
Sweet fragrance fiud in ev’ry part.
Could I transplant in my embrace,
That thornless 'Ruse' so long ‘unknown,’
So other fl >»'r should fill its place—
