'Gaovsiton, Txxaa, April 26, 1856.
Da. O. O. Woodman, New Orleans;
My Dear Sir:—In justice to you and a duty
I owe to a suffering, and, I may say, a world ol
coughing people, I stole what your invaluable
Cough Remedy—your CHERRY* EXPEC
TORANT—has done for me, when alt other
remedies have failed to give any relief. In the
fall of 1847, living in Ht. Louis, where I have
resided moat of the time for the last aixteen
yean, I took a severe cold, which settled on my
lungs, and was confined to my bed, and dosed
and blistered by doctors for several Weeks, but
finally got on my legs again, but not cured of
my hsrd coughing, and rattling and tickling iu
my throat, which continued knuwwintly for
more than six months, alwaystbo was* in the
winter. My friends^ insisted I had coughed
eiiougVio kLI a doieii cbmrnett TMn, aiid (hat
I must be in the list stage of consumption. I
made up my mind that I must conga my life
sway. I left 8t Louis in December last, to
travel and spend the winter in tire South.—
WhenjI called at your store in Vicksburg, you
will recollect, ( was coughing so hard 1 could
not make my business known, ..You laid you
would cure my cough. As you gaveme a bot
tle of your CHERRY EXPECTORANT, I
thought I would not slight you and your medi
cine so much as not to try it; and in thankful
ness shall 1 ever remember the day I did so. In
but a faw days, it began to allay and diminish
my cough and tickling in my throat, and be
fore I had used more than three fourths of the
contents of that bottle,! was entirely cured, and
for weeks I did not even raise a cough, thougl
expssed day and night, in ail weathers, in tra
veling. However, in March, while traveling in
North Carolina, I took a severe cold, and my
coughing commenced again, and akse the tick
ling in my throat, at intervals; and before my
arriving in New Orleans, on the 11th inaL, on
some night, my coughing would commence
and continue for an hour or two. I soon pro
cured another bottle from you, ami in less than
two days I was entirely relieved^again. I am
now determined to always keep a bottle on
hand, and in the commencing of a cough, a ve
ry few small dose* will relieve it entirely. 1
am uow fully satisfied it is the BIST COUGH
REMEDY now known to the world; and it is a
duty you owe to the coughing and afflicted
pari of the human family, to pa' so valuable a
remedy wjthin the reach of all l s praises will
soon be upon the tonguesof tcc.ii ! thousands of
joyful ami coughlt-ss, happy souls, bo great a

before the public.
