Oalvistox, Tixas, April 26, 1856.
Dr. 0. O. Woodman, New Orleans;
My Dear Sir.—In justice to you and a duty
I owe to a suffering, and, I may aay, a World ol
coughing people, 1 st«te what your invaluable
Cough Remedy—your CHERRY EXPEC
TORANT—has done for mo, when all other
remedies have failed to give any relief. In the
fall of 1817. living in 8t- Louis, where I have
resided most nf the time for the last stiteen
years, I took a severe cold, which settled on my
lungB.and was confined to my bed, and dosed
and b/istered by doctor* for several weeks, but
finally got on my legs again, but not cured of
my hard coughing, and rattling and tickling iu
my throat, which continued usaintly for
more than six months, always the voxatin the
winter. My friends insisted I had coughed
enough to kill a dozen commen men, and that
I must be in the last stage of coneumption. I
made up my mind that 1 must cough my life
away. I left St. Louis in Gecxvwbsr last, to
travel and spend the winter in the South.—
Whcnji called at your store in Vicksburg, you
will recollect, 1 was coughing so hard I could
not make my business known. Yon said you
would cure my cough. As you gave me a but
tle of your CHERRY EXPECTORANT, I
thought I would not slight you and your medi
cine so much a.s not to try it; and in thankful
ness shall i ever remember the day I did so. In
but a fow days, it began to allay and diminish
my cough and tickling in my throatyind be
fore I had used more than three fourths of tho
conlcute of that bo.tie, I was entirely cured, snJ
for weeks I did not even raise a cough, tboug!
exposed day and night, in all weathers, in tra
veling. However, in March, while traveling in
North Carolina, I took a severe cold, end my
coughing commenced again, andalse the tisk-
ling in my throat, at intervale; nod before my
arriving io New Orleans, on the I 111' inst, on
some night, my coughing would commence
and continue for an hour or two. I soon pro
cured another liotile from you, and in less than
two days I was entirely relieved again. I am
now determined to always k ep a bottle on
hand, and in the commencing of a cough, a ve
ry few small doses will relieve it entirely. I
am now fully satisfied it is the bsiit COUGH
REMEDY now known to the world; and it is a
duty you owe to the coughing and afflicted
part ot the human family, to pot so valuable a
remedy within the icaclt of all. I's o' 'eawill
soon be upon the tonguesof tone : tho. ml* ol
oyful and eoughless, happy souls. So great a
remedy ss your Expectorant should be brought
before the public.
