Liverpool Market.—The sales of cotton for the week, reach 6'2,i)00 bales, of which specu lators took 9,000 and exporters 4,500 bales.— The business of the week shows a gradual ad vance, and middling qualities have improved - the ni09t,and the market closed with an ad vancing tendency. Ilraadstufls were quiet, and wheat exhibited a declining tendency. The Anglo Haxou, with accounts from the United States to July 18tb, had reached Liv erpool, and (as our telegraph dispatches read) caused an advance of 3-8ths in the Mobile cottons. The following are the cotton quota tions furnished by the news by the Canada. All the vessels engaged in laying the sub.- marire telegraph cable were in Cork on the 1st of August, and expected to leave on that day for Valentis, where the cable will connect with the main land. Experiments through the whole telegraph cable have proved highly successful. Mr. Ten Broeck’s horses, Prior and Prior ess were beaten in the race for the 'Goodwood Cup’ ou the 30th July, The mails from India confirm former tele graphic advices. There is uo confirmation, however, of the captur e of Delhi, although ttc rumor obtained general credence. Returns from 34 counties show a majority for the new Con stitution of 4,500. New York, Aug. 11. The cotton market to-day, was firm, with •ales of 500 bales, and there are more buyers than sellers.
