Special Notices. Worms! Worms! Worms!—A 80. A great man; learned treaties Lave M written, explaining the origin of, and daMifylng the worme generated in the human system. Scarcely any topic of medical aei-; enco has elicited more acute observation and profound research ; and yet physicians are very I much divided in opiniou on the subject. It | must Ire admitted however, that, after ull, a mode of expelling them and purifying the be. dy from their presence is of more value than i he wisest disquisitions r.s to their origin- Soch an expelling agent bos at lost beeu found. Dr. M’Lane’s Vermifuge proves to be the much songht after specific—its efficacy be- 1 ing universally acknowledged by the entire medical fuculty. As further proof, read the fol lowing iron) a lady—one of our own citizens Nbw Yobk, October l!>th,'l852. This is to certify that I was troubled with worms for more than a year, i was advised to use M'Lane'a Celebrated Vermifuge, prepared by Fleming Bros, of Pittsburgh. 1 took one bottle, which brought away about fifty worms 1 commenced improving # once, and ura now perfectly well. The public cun learn iny name' and farther particulars, by applying to Mrs. Hardie, No. 3 Manhatteii place, or to K. L Theall,' Druggist, corner of Rutger and Mods roe streets. VST Purchasers will be caret ul to ask lor 1)?. M'Lane's Celebrated Yermifugc manufactured | by Fleming Broa.,of Pitlaburgb, Pa. All other : Vermifuges in comparison arc worthless, Ur. M'Lane's genuine Y’ormiluge, also his celrbra j tod Liver Pills, can now be had at all respectable drug stores. None genuine without the sig nature of FLEMING BROS. H. R. R.—CONSTANT IRRITATION. THE CAUSE OF PAINFUL DISCHAR GES FROM THE BOWELS.—There is a great mystery about physic, which even in these R. R. R. days tho people have not yet seen the interpretation. Wo will endeavor to nnravel a few folds of this mysterious mummy that have been shrouded in darkness r-o many centuries. Mr. Smith complains that every passage lie has from the bowels, he suffers great pain, and feels “very week ar.d faintish,” a I sort of soreness and irritation i3 felt after every 1 evacuation, he has to take pills or straining that a discharge takes place. Mr. Smith’s case is the case of thousands of otherswho complain of Liver Complaint, Constipation of the Bowels Costivencss, Indigestion frequent attacka of Biliiousncss, and every once in a while power ful Diarrhoea discharges. Mr. Smith and many others take salts and senna common dras tic pill- 3 . Blue pills, calomel and julap, rhu barb and Magnesia, and other ineffective and drustic draining cathartics, the effect of whi ch is to irritate the mucus membrane and intes tines, to cause ulcers and sores to cover the surface of the intestines and bowels, the drain ings the bowels sulfcr weaken them, and the irritations caused by these drastics irritants Icavo them sore and painful. Whenever u dis charge takes his place it is like scratching a raw sore on the surface ; the more drastic pills are taken the weaker and sorer the bowels become. This drastic purgiug kills the bowels, neglects the liver, kidneys, bladder, Nervi;, and oilier organs, consequently, those who commence physicing with these drastic pills have to con tinue their use, to be afflicted with u distressing discharge, or none at all. Rudway's Regula tors supply this great deficiency, which has so long been needed ; otic of Railway s Regula tors will heal all soies that may he in the bow els, will force the Liver, Kidneys, Bladder Heart and Bowels to the regular performance of their several functions, und will tecum to all a pleasant and ea-y discharge from the boa ela, at a regular time. Railway's Regulators, heals purges, regulates and corrects ull un healthy conditions of the bowels, Live; K id- ocys, Nerves, Skin und Heart. ,t Valuable Medicine.—Dining the present week, no less than 3tx of our friends, who have been induced to try Professor Do t truth's Elec trie Oil for rheumatism, in conscqueuce of hav ing seen this preparation advertised iu our col umns, havo called anou its to state the result of their experimen.s. TAYLOR, Sir : I regret to say to you that tor a loin, time I sit fibred most severely from that horrid I disease dyspepsia, and all its evil attendants.! Life, itself, almost became a burthen. Remc-1 dy after remedy was tried—medical advice j sought from time to time—but all would not do. Heart burns, sour eructations, a difficulty in breathing, pain iu the head, and many oili er ills to whicn flesh is heir, were the torments of my lifo. At last, I tried your Elixir, uud since then have found relief. Upon my case, it has operated as a charm. 1 can now eat with some miitluction, and sleep without lining troubled with frightful dreams. In truth, Sir, to your Elixir 1 owo almost a new existence, and you are at liberty to publish this to the world should you think proper to do so. YVM.KAY.
