Onr readers will recollect some weeks
since the exhibition at tbe City Hall in
this city of Bordwell’s Mirror of Ireland,
and tbe appearance on tbe stage of a
girl, who assisted in songs and dancing.
After the company left here they visited
several other places in Georgia, and
finally went to Kashville, Tenn., and the
Banner of that city, after giving a depre
catory account of tbe exhibition in that

Sudden Death of as old Citizen.—
On last Thmsday afternoon between five
*ix o’clock, the sad intelligence of
the death of Mr. Jesse Hardy reached
this city. Ho was returning home from
his farm about six milea East of Ameri
cna, ami when within a mile of the city,
implained of a pain in his left breast.

Mr. Hardy was one of the oldest citi
zens of Americas, and was most highly
ipected and esteemed by tbe entire
community. He leaves a wife and sev
oral grown children, as well as a number
of grand children.
The funeral services took place Fri
day afternoon, and he was buried in
Oak Grove Cemetery, a large cchooarse
of sorrowing relative) and friends follow
ing his remains to the tomb.

lished in Albany, Rev. Dr. Griffiths and Rev.
Willis M. Russell editors. Ttwill be devoted
to the advancement of experimental religion,
both of heart and life. In their prospectus
the editors say:

will be had, by animpassioned counsel, to
stimulate the earnest and the good to higher
experiences and more solid attainments of
grace, and. at the same time, t*. arouse the
