HUBDEBEl) AT HER HOME.
Hliocklngr Fate of An Aged ‘Wo
man Who Married a Yoons
Husband.
Atlanta, Match 22.— John Meln-
valo, aged 25, of Crawford county, waa
married two yearc ago to a woman of
aixty, whose two tons and gray hairs
seems i to fit her mors for the groom's
mother thaa his wife. She was pos
sessed of real eatate rained at about
15,000. After the marriage Melanie
was enable to indace the woman to
deed him the property, and last fall
he decided to try the efficacy of a law
•nit. The decision was against him,
and penniless and angry, he separated
from his aged bride. She continued
living at the old homestead, while ha
took up his abode with a family resid-
ingahont a mile away.
Two days ago Mrs. Mela rale's
went to a distant fell to work, leaving
their mother at heme alone. When
they returned for dinner her corpse
waa found in the firs-plaoe beneath a
pile of biasing logs, her face and shoul
ders were burned beyond recognition.
It was thought at first that she had
been a<Xack6d with sppoplexy and had
fallen into the fire. An investigation
however, disclosed n stick of fire wood
covered with dole of blood, to which
adhered several of the victim’s long
gray hairs'. In addition to this the
skull was found to be fractured.
There was no longer room for doubt-
S : that a terrible crime had been com-
tted. Threats which Mclnvale is
said to have made against his wife after
seperation direct suspicion to him, bnt
he has made no attempt to escape.
