Mrs* Saran, wife of Hon. Wm. A.
Wibon, died rather suddenly Mon
day last. For several years sho had
been a sufferer from some heart
trouble, and dropsy supervened and
for a long time her death has been
pocted by her friends. On Monday
Mr. Wibon was in tho city and
pressed himself, very hopefully
friends in regard to iter condition.
A sadden change came while he was
hero, and her daughter, Mrs. Bryant,
who was attending to her domestic
duties, found her in- a dying condi
tion. She was a consistent chlrstlan,
a loving wife, and devoted mother
and has passed to the reward prepar
ed for the 'just beyond the stars.
Tho deceased was a sister to Mrs.
A. A. Adams and Mrs. Elizabeth
Barlow. _

Mr. Smith Davenport died of heart
disease at hb residence near Magno
lia Springs, in Webster county, Mon
day afternoon at 3 o’clock, July Gth,
aged about 75 years. He was born in
Virginia, and moved to thb Stato

He joined the M. E. Church South,
many years ago, and hb walk and
conduct exemplified the Christian
