The gentle man to whom the letter was addressed voluntarily took it to the Custom House and paid the legal duties upon it. A book-keeper of M. P. Stoval, of Au gusta, checked out $4,000 from the bank, went home, took a nap, and uftenvards found that he had lost over three-fourths of the money through a hole in his 'coat p >cket. At Cleveland a stone was thrown through a car window. The missile struck a mau wearing a white coat. Afterwaul an attempt was made to throw the train oil’ the track, but this, too. was unsuccess ful.
