Let us trace the cuhsequent history
of our public school operation*. At
the beginning of the year 1872 th •
present Sta .e administration came into
power, and 1 bad the honor of Itciug

- hold. The difficulties ol the position

Those unfriendly to the system took
courage ami cast into the teeth cf its
friends the stereotyped “ I tol l you so.'*
Letters from all q.l triers kept pouring
in upon the deptrtutnut. Niue hun
