Tho heavy rains in Jackson county
last week, are said to have damaged

Peaches are now occasionally to bo

those who can afford to indulge at 20

no doubt be an ornament to our city,
and the building thereof being award

no doubt in a very short time we shall
behold it as one of the finished enter

It was an outrage, that the Jots ug

baggage. Our heretofore enterprising
livery men should stir up. Such mis

A white man and a negro were

Tiie Queen ok All Sewing Machines
—In speaking of the merits of the Wil
son Shuttle Sewing Machine, it is suffi
cient to say that we think the invention
of this machine marks one of the most
important eras in the history of this
country; and when we consider the in
fluence it has upon the social well-being
of the masses, it is difficult to conceive
of an invention of more importance. It
has a beautiful, noiseless movement; it
has the geuuine “ Lock-Stitch” alike on
both sides, and does to perfection all
kinds of plain und tine sewing; it needs
no commendation, its rapid sales, the
increasing demand, and the many flatter
ing testimonials from those who have
used it, is sufficient proof of its merits.
The want of a Sewing Machine is deeply
lelt in every household, and as the Wil
son Shuttle Sewing Machine, on account
id its extreme simplicity aud less cost ot
manufacture, is s >)d at a much lower
price than all other first class machines,
it is meeting with the extensive patron
age that it so justly merits. Machines
will ho delivered at any Railroad Station
in this country, free of transportation
charges, if ordered through the Compa

Bradfield <0 Co.. Atlanta, Ga.—Dear
Sirs:—I take pleasure in stating that I
have used for the last twenty years the
medicine you are putting up, known as
Dr. Bradjield's Female Regulator, and
consider it the best, combination ever
gotten together for the diseases for which
it is recommended. I have been familiar
with the preparation both as a practi
tioner of medicine and in domestic prac
tice, nnd can honestly say that I consider
it a boon to suffering females, and can
but hope that every lady in our land,
who may be suffering in any way peculiar
to their sex, may be nble to procure a
bottle, and their sufferings may not only
be relieved, but they may be restored to
health and strength.
With my kindest regards,
I am, respectfully,

TROUP ARTJtlERY
EtK-UNTON.
It having long been ray intention to
call a re-union of my old Company,
that a “ Troup Artillery Society”
might be formed for the preservation
and perpetuation of the history* of those
gallant men whom I had the honor to
command during our Confederate War,
and whose deeds of gallantry, heroism
and true patriotism justly entitles that
their names should he handed down to
posterity, therefore, in furtherance of
this object, and in obedience to my
wishes, and that of every member of
the old command, a re-union is hereby
called, to take place at Athens, Ga.,
on Weduesday, August 18th, 1875.
All soldiers of whatever command,
living iu this section of the State, are
earnestly requested to be with us at
this re-uuion. The re-uuion will take
place at the Court House in Athens
at 10J o’clock, A. M., Wednesday the
18th day of August, when after or
ganizing, the full programme of pro
ceedings will be announced for the re
maining two days oL>our meeting, It
is earnestly hoped that every surviving
member ot the old company who may
have at any time belonged thereto,
will be present, and out of the five hun
dred and sixty odd members which the
old muster rolls show to have belonged
to the Company, from the beginning
to the close of the war, we hope to
have a full attendance.
Each member is requested to use his
endeavors to communicate the fact of
our re-union on above mentioned date
to those fellow members who are now
so widely scattered throughout our
Southern land.
Respectfully,
|Th. CARLTON,
Capt. Troup Artillery, A. N. Va.
