of “Baked Potato?” We would
like to know.

Guess what young man in Rock
Hill i 6 going to hunt him a sweet
heart? We hope you will be suc
cessful, Mr. —.
Wonder what young man in our
little burg rides so fast till he loses
his hat, and then can’t stop his
horse long enough to get it?
Miss Maude Hamil’s school closed
Friday. We are sorry to give her
up, but wish for her much happi
ness and success wherever she goes.
Several from this place attended
the quarterly meeting at Hilton
Saturday and Sunday. Rev. Cook
preached an excellent sermon both
days.
Messrs. Arthur and Freeman
Sessions, Jerome Jordan and Reese
Wolfe attended the musical enter
tainment over at Sowhatchee Sat
urday night.
There will be services at Rock
Hill school house the first Sunday

All have a specal invitation, for
we will appreciate your visit.
Those on the sick list this week
are Mrs. A. F. Sessions, Mrs. J. R.
Legere and Messrs. O. E. Hall and

a speedy recovery.
The young people of this place
met a few Sundays ago and organ
ised a Sabbath school. We are
very proud, indeed, to see them
adopt this method tor there is noth
ing which can build up a settlement
any more than a Sunday school.
Everybody come that can, for you
will always have a welcome.
School meets at 3 o’clock every
Sunday. _______
Card of Thanks.
True sympathy is one of the
most beautiful virtues of life, and
1 wish to thank one and all who
were so kind to me in my recent
affliction—to all who came and
helped me up with my work while
1 was unable to help myself, I de
sire to express my heartfelt thanks.
May God reward you for your kind
ness, for I never can.
J. R. Legere.
Bob Davis Will Get His Wish.
The Jacksonville, Fla., Times-
Union is responsible for the follow
ing in regard to Hon. Robt. W.
Davis, a former citizen of Blakely :
In 18— a preacher-farmer, living
in Decatur county, Georgia, ran
short of meat and decided to send
a wagon to the cost of Florida to
secure a supply of mullet as a sub
stitute. George, a trusted negro
man, drove the wagon, and the
farmer’s little son, Bob, was per
mitted to go along. When they
stopped to replenish their supply of
provisions, tobacco, etc. As they
left the city they passed by the Cap
itol, and Bob said to George,
“‘Whose fine big house is that?”
“Hush,” said George, “that’s
the State capitol.”
“Does the Governor live there?”
“Yes,” said George, “and he
sits in a big, high chair.”
“Well, well,” said Bob, “I wish
I could live in that house.”
That boy was Bob Davis. And
now he will get his wish.
