Fleming, editor of the News, left Saturday evening for La vonia to attend the annual meeting of the Georgia Press Association. Mrs. M. H. Misses Eva and Evelyn Jernigan have returned from a visit to their sisters, Mrs. E. T. Willingham, at Macon, and MYs. D. E. Wilson, at Atlanta. The meeting of the Y. W. A.s of the Blakely Baptist church which was to have been held Thursday, July 19th, has been postponed until Thursday, July 26th. Col. B. R. Collins has returned from Atlanta, where he recently un derwent an operation. His friends are pleased to learn that he is on the road to recovery. -i - 9 Friends of Deputy Sheriff Sidney W. Williams and daughter are spending this week out at Liberty Hill, guests of Mr, and Mrs. J. B. B. Davis. Mr. Williams, wife and daughter are former resi dents of our city. Dr. C. T. Alexander and son, Lynwood, motored down to Panama City Monday, bringing back Miss Marguerite, who had painfully hurt her foot while in swimming in the bay on Friday. Mrs. M. N. Ward and granddaugh ter, Miss Boncile Johnson, of Lump kin, are visiting at the home of Mr. E. L. Fryer, Sr., MY. and Mrs. Carl Fryer going up after them Monday. EARLY COUNTY NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Touchton left Saturday evening for LaGrange, after a pleasant visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Fudge and other relatives in Blakely. They will make their future home in LaGrange. Mrs. W. A. Barksdale, Mrs. J. H. Hill, Misses Fleda and Lucile Barks dale and Fleda Mulligan and Mr. Ed ward Deal composed a motor party going up to Lumpkin last Thursday.
