TIE ONE, WIN ONE FROM
DAWSON CLUB,
Last Thursday afternoon’s game
in Dawson resulted in an 8 inning
tie, 7 to 7, being called on account
of rain. Blakely at one time had a
six run lead, which was tied by the
Dawson club in the last inning. Mor
ris was relieved in the Bth after 4
runs had been scored by Cochran.
Dawson scoring 2 more before the
side could be retired. Hines and
Hawson worked for I>awson.
Friday afternoon’s game was rain
ed out.
On the Blakely diamond Saturday
afternoon Cochran for Blakely and
Lucas for Dawson engaged in a
splendid pitcher’s battle which was
won by Blakely, score 2 to 1, Coch
ran allowing six hits and Lucas sev
en. Meyers, new Blakely catcher, was
on the job for the local club, while
C. Rawson was behind the plate for
Dawson. This was one of the best
games of the season.

Albany took the opener of a three
game series in Albany Monday after
noon, in a pretty pitcher's battle be
tween Slappey for Albany and Wil
liamson for Blakely. A freak dou
ble and a passed ball gave Albany
the winning run in the ninth inning.
Blakely’s tally was a home run drive
by George Clarke.

ed the game for the locals, was wild
as a deer, walking six and gD ins
up 5 hits and 6 runs before he was
yanked in the third Inning and re
placed by Turk, who pitched a better
brand of ball during the remainder of
the game. The best Blakely could
do off Rain’s delivery was 3 runs
and six hits.

The Blakely warriors came back
good and strong Wednesday in Al
bany, trimming the Dougherty county
boys to the tune of 10 to 3, featured
by the heavy hitting of the Blakely
gang, Pounds, Jenkins and Lowrey
each securing a home run. Farrar
for Albany was hammered for 18
safeties, while Lowrey, working his
first game for Blakely, was touched
up for 10 safeties.

ARLINGTON HERE TODAY.
Our old enemy, Arlington, comes
over today, and if Jupiter Pluvius
doesn’t interfere, a double-header will
be played, the first game beginning
at 2:30. The count for the season
between these two teams stands at
■ three victories for Blakely and one
! for Arlington. It is natural to sup
pose that the Calhoun county team
1 is going to fight a desperate battle
> to capture today’s games to even
the count. ‘Buddie’ Williamson and
I ‘Goat’ Cochran are going to try to
