Early County Truckers
..COLUMN..
Plant corn, beans and watermelons
now, and keep on planting tomatoes
until you get plenty of plants to
transplant to your field. Send hack
and get more seed. Don't depend on
buying your plants. You can raise
them as cheap and as quick as any
body else. Don’t get discouraged
about your backset. Keep at it.
Don’t fail to arrange for some pot
ash for your truck. * You’ll need it
if vou succeed.
Harrow the land that you expect
to plant in tomatoes every now and
then. Get it in good shape by the
time your plants are large enough
to transplant.
We have a promise from the rail
road for commodity freight rates for
our canned goods. We are assured
from one concern that we can get
the cans on terms that we can
meet, and if we stay with the truck
we are bound to succeed.

DEATH OF MRS. APPIE HOLDER.
Mrs. Apple Holder, wife of J. J.
Holder, Sr., died at her home in
Early county, Cuba district, on the
13th day of March, 1921. She leaves
a husband and four children to mourn
her death. She was the mother of
eight children, but four preceded her
to the grave several years ago. Those
living are J. J., Jr., and A. B. Hold
er, of this county; Mrs. C. H. Addi
son, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs.
G. F. Walsh, of Fitzgerald, Ga.
FVinoral services were conducted at
the grave by Rev. Wiley, lie preach
ed the last sermon she ever heard.
She was a member of Midway Mis
sionary Baptist church, of Pulaski
county from early girlhood and was
a faithful servant of the Lord.
Mrs. Holder was Miss Appie Siller
Smith before her marriage. Had she
lived she would have been 7G years
old on the 15th of this month, but
the Lord needed one more sweet
flower and plucked her front our
arms on the 13th. She told us all
good-bye and told us she could not
stay with us any longer. She was a
devoted wife and mother, living for j
her husband and children, and trying |
to teach her family and loved ones ;
to serve God w ith their whole heart, i
She was a good Christian woman
and loved by all who knew her.
Mother, we are patiently waiting
For the trumpet to sound.
So we can greet you
With that bright golden crown.
She has gone to meet her loved ones |
On that bright and happy shore.
Where there is no more parting.
But rejoicing evermore.
1 was helping mother pray.
When the Lord called her away
Out of my arms to His land
To join that glorious happy band.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in the home
That never can be filled.
She is resting peacefully.
In that home beyond the sky
And we hope to meet her there in
That sweet by and by.
ONE WHO LOVED HER.
