BAPTIST S. S. HAD
A BIG DAY SUNDAY
The Blakely Baptist Sunday school
had a great rally day last Sunday.
There was a total attendance of 357
and the collection reached the hand
some sum of $364 plus.
The friendly contest between the
Business Men's Class and the Young
Men’s Bible Class resulted in a
victory for the young men as to
numbers in attendance and for the
business men as to finances. There
were 78 present in the young men's
class and 55 in the business men’s
class. The challenge of the business
men to the young men navtng been
to excel in both numbers and fi
nances, it is up to the business
men to stage a banquet for their
successful rivals. A similar contest
between the T. E. L. and Dorcas
Class resulted in a victory for the
Dorcas Class.
The Sunday School program wasn't

A MISLEADING STATEMENT.
The News is in receipt of the fol
lowing letter from Mr. T. E. Grier:
Editor Early County News:
Last week’s News reports "that
sand and lumber had been placed
and work will begin on the Rock-
Hilton Consolidated School building
within the next few days.”
There has never been a Roek-Hilton
Consolidated School District in Early
county, neither has there been any
sand or lumber placed on the ground
for the construction of such a build
ing in Early county by that name,
neither have the trustees agreed on
the Waters Ford site.
We have a Rock Hill Consolidated
School District and it will be known
by that name at least thirty years.

HYDROPHOBIA A
SERIOUS PROBLEM
Th# question of Hydrophobia h
Georgia is a serious one. Somethlni
should be done by our General As
sambly about the problem. At leas
the dog owner should be willing t<
supply the funds for furnishing thi
Pasteur treatment. Don’t you thinl
that would be fair.
Over two thousand treatments so
rabies were prepared and sent out b;
the Georgia State Board of Healtl
la* year. It requires 21 doses t
complete a treatment. Just think o
it, 50,000 "shots.’’ We presume tha
the physicians were paid at least i
doli;r. :'r*v .a- •> injection. $50,000.0
besides the cost of manufacturing
mailing, cases, etc., not counting time
ahxiety and mental distress. Th
treatments ere furnished free by th
State Board of Health. Don’t yo
agree with us that a dog tax shouL
