“COUNTRY CUT-UPS” IS SUCCESSFUL PLAY Under the auspices of the Blakely P. T. A., a two act health comedy, •‘The Country Cut-Ups,” was staged at the school auditorium by the school children last Friday night. The play, which has the merit of novelty, was written and directed by Dr. M. A. Fort, Director Divis ion Malaria Control, Georgia State Board of Healih, and the underlying motive for its presentation was to put over a message that would not otherwise have reached the people, as to the causes and effects of ma laria, hookworm disease, adenoids, and all preventable diseases. Besides being instructive. there was not a dull or tedious moment during the whole program ami the play afforded much merriment and laughter for the audience. During the intermission Dr. Fort gave us a dear, vigorous statement of malarial conditions m Blakely and tbrougho.it th county, also much valuable advice as to how the menace may be overcome and health preserved. All pupils participating in the production displayed wonderful his trionic ability and it needs no stretch ing of the imagination to realize that the “Country Cut-Ups” made a hit, besides bringing into the. treasury of the P. T. A. a net profit of $43.05, which will lie used in health work. FOR SALE —Beautiful home on River street in Blakely, next to Mr. Grady Holman’s, nicely finished inter ior. Modern conveniences.
