funeral of Mrs. James Pace, who was
a relative of Mr. McKinney. Her
death occurred Saturday.

was solemnized Thursday afternoon
at 5 o’clock at Druid Hills Baptist

panied them home to spend the hol

Mr. Elton Spence, a student at
Auburn, was among the passengers
on the train wrecked between Bir
mingham and Memphis last week,
when some 57 were injured. El
ton’s friends will be delighted to
know that he received only minor
injuries, and after receiving treat
ment at a Birmingham hospital, was
dismissed.
Friends in Blakely will learn with
regret of the death of Bishop F. F.
Reese, of the Episcopal Diocese of
Georgia. Bishop Reese visited Blake
ly several times, although he had
not been active lately and had large
ly surrendered his Diocean duties to
the Rt. Rev. M. S. Barnwell, who
was elected Bishop Coadjutor of the
Diocese of Georgia.

the service will be in the charge of
the College Students of the Com
munity who are home for the holi
days. For some years on the
Christmas Sunday the students have
had a service of this character. It
is an union service of all the church
es of the city. This time the serv
ices will be in the Methodist church
and John H. Williams, Jr., is to
preside. There are to be quite a
number of the students on the pro
gram and there is every promise of
a most interesting service. We hope
that all the students and all their
friends wlil be there.
The Young People of the two
Epworth Leagues expect to meet
at 6:15.
Next Wednesday evening at seven
o’clock we expect to have our regu
lar mid-week worship service.

next Sunday in our place at the
Sunday School hour, and remain to
the preaching service at 11:00 a. m.
The pastor is speaking on “What
Growth in 1936?”
In the evening, after our Train
ing Unions at 6:00, we will all go
over to the Methodist Church where
our community observes ‘Student
Night’—and let our young people
know that we are glad to have them
home for the holidays. The program,
as published elsewhere, is in the
hands of the young folk themselves.
There will be no meetings of the
Societies during the week—but we
will have our regular Prayer service
on next Wednesday night, 7:00 p. m.
Our Deacons’ meeting in the pastor’s
study at 7:00 p. m. on Monday.
