Freeman are getting things in order

MR. AND MRS. D. R. Deal and
children left Monday fqr Pensacola,
Fla., where they wil make their fu
ture home. Mr. Deal has bought the
Lime Cola bottling rights in that
territory and will embark in the bot
tling business.
MR. AARON M. BLANTON, of
Carnegie, and Miss Ruby Pearl
Rhodes, of near Blakely, were united
in marriage on the 16th inst, Rev.
J. A. J. Dumas performing the cere
mony.

returned Tuesday evening from a
trip to Macon.

MR. WILK ROBERTS left Sunday
for Gainesville, Fla., for the purpose
of launching a Lime Cola bottling
plant at that point. He and Messrs.
J. T. Freeman and E. A. Evans have
bought the bottling rights for that
territory.

the tax rate for 1916 at $12.00 per
thousand, the same as last year, $lO
for city property and $2 for the
schools.
MR. CLARENCE MELTON, who
is with the National Guard at Macon,
spent Saturday with the home folks
near Blakely.

MR. HUGH PERKINS, one of
Uncle Sam’s rural mail “Toters”, of
Howard, Ga., was down at Hilton a
few days last week prospecting, with
a view of exchanging routes with
the Hilton carrier, all on account of
a winsome and most popular young
lady resident of same.
MR. CLAUDE WHITCHARD went
over to Dawson Friday to spend a
few d'ays with relatives before leav
ing for Macon to enter Mercer Uni
versity. He was joined at Smith
ville Sunday by Messrs. J. Perry
Alexander, Lane Coa'ehman and
Robert Stuckey, and the four enter
ed Mercer University.

day for Athens, where he will enter
the medical department of the State
