Corporal Parks Hester, of Fort
Benning, has returned to his post
after spending several days with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Hester,
in the Cuba community.
Miss Johnnie Mae Prince left Sun
day for Washington, D. C., where
she has accepted a civil service ap
pointment. She is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Prince of this
county.
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Dunn spent
last week in Vienna, being called
there because of the unexpected
death of Mr. Dunn’s mother, Mrs. D.
J. Dunn, who died on Tuesday of
last week.
Mrs. J. H. Williams is in Atlanta
this week with her mother, Mrs. B.
H. Askew, of Arlington, who is in a
hospital in that city for treatment
of a broken hip received in a fall
last week.

MOSELY-HERRING
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Herring, of
Arlington, announce the marriage of
their daughter, Annelle, to William
Louis Mosely, Jr., of Blakely, Sun
day, April 5.
A marriage of cordial interest in
this section is that of Mr. William
Louis Mosely, Jr., of this city, to
Miss Annelle Herring, of Arlington,
which occurred in the latter city
Sunday afternoon at one o’clock in
the Methodist church, with the Rev.
0. B. Chester officiating.
Mrs. Mosely is the attractive
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
Herring of Arlington. She is a
charming brunette and has made
many friends in this section since
she has been a member of the Cedar
Springs school faculty. She is a
graduate of Arlington high school
and of Georgia Southwestern Col
lege, Americus.
Mr. Mosely is the second son of
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mosely, of this
city. He is a graduate of the Blake
ly high school and also attended
South Georgia College, Douglas. He
is connected in business with the
Mosely Livestock Yards, of which
his father is owner.
After a wedding trip to points in
Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Mosely will be
at home to their friends at the
home of the groom’s parents.
MRS. BARBREY HOBBS
DIES AT HOME IN
FORT LAUDERDALE
Blakely friends learned with sin
cere regret of the death of Mrs.
James Barbrey Hobbs, who passed
Tuesday night at her home in Fort
Lauderdale, Fla., following an apo
plectic stroke.
Her body will be brought to
Blakely Friday, where services will
be held Friday afternoon at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Hobbs,
with interment in the city cemetery.
Mrs. Hobbs formerly lived in
Blakely and had many friends here
who regret her sudden passing.
