time Mr. Owen has served as warden,
he has set a record with the Georgia
Department of Corrections as having
one of the best operated camps in
the state.
The date for holding the county
primary has not yet been set, as the
executive committee, of which W'. A.
Cox is chairman, has not yet met
and made plans for the primary.
Other officers to be nominated in
the primary are clerk of superior
court (Bert Tarver, incumbent), or
dinary (D. C. Morgan, incumbent),
tax commissioner (J. L. Houston, in
cumbent), treasure! (Earl “Tige”
Pickle, incumbent), superintendent incumb
of schools (T. B. Mellette, W.
ent), Judge of City Court (J.
Bonner, incumbent), Solicitor of
City Court (Philiip Sheffield, in
cumbent), and coroner (J. T. Jor
dan, incumbent).
Milton F. Bryant, local groceryman,
announced several months ago that
he will be a candidate for county
treasurer.
DEATH OF BABY
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. E. C.
Scarborough deeply sympathize with
them in the death of their three
week-old son, Wilson David Scarbor
ough, who died Tuesday morning at
12:05 o’clock. Funeral services for
the baby were held Tuesday after
noon at four o’clock at the Pine
View church, with the Revs. W. E.
Storey and W. T. Roberts officiating.
Interment was in Pine View ceme
tery, with the Minter Funeral Home
