It's almost “Fair Time"” again!
The bellowing of cattle, squeal of
pigs, cackling of chickens, the stri
dent voices of side show barkers,
and music of merry-go-rounds will
soon be abroad in the land. There
will be daredevil trapeze and other
thrilling acts in front of the grand
stand, with fireworks display and
auto racing. |
Club boys and girls are hard at
work grooming and fitting their
calves and pigs for the shows. Adult
breeders are putting the finishing
touches on their show herds., Can
ning, preserving and jelly making
,un the order of the day in the
[kitchen with selections of prized
products set aside for exhibit at
“The Fair.” Needlework of all kinds
is being readied for display. “Fair
Time"” is a busy and exciting time.
Then comes the judging and award
ing of prizes. When Junior or Sis
ter walks off with a blue ribbon,

“Fair Time" is the time when
friends and neighbors from far and
near get together, swap experiences,
see what the other fellow is doing,

Show To Be Held At
Early County Fair
This year, Thursday, October 22,
will be set aside as Livestock Day at
the Early County Fair, The cattle
and hog show will be only for that
day. Any animals to be shown must
be at the Fair Grounds by 5:30 p.
m. The show will be held at 8:00
p. m. on Thursday. Animals will
be taken home after the show. The
show is open to all breeders, FFA
members, and 4-H Club members in
Early county, All cattle must be
halter broken, i
