tained the members of the Peter
Early Chapter 'D. A. R. Thursday
afternoon. Her home was decorated
with lovely arrangements of fall
flowers,
Mrs, Dunbar Grist, regent, presid
ed and led the Ritual and pledge to
the flag. After this she read the
President General’s message.
Mrs, J. G. Standifer, program
director, presented one of the guests
for the afternoon, Warren Baxley,
Jr., who gave a highly entertaining
account of his trip to the Boy Scout
National Jamboree in California,
Mrs. Ed Morton, another guest,
gshowed beautiful color slides of
points of interest in European coun
tries which she and her husband vis
ited during their stay abroad.
At conclusion of the meeting a
social hour was enjoyed, during
which the hostess served a delicious
salad course with tea.

Recipe of the Week
Mulligan Stew
(Serves 8
1 Bounce package macaroni
% pound ground pork
1 onion
1 pound ground beef
1 quart tomatoes
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
2 teaspoons salt
% teaspoon ground black pep
per
Cook macaroni in boiling salt
od water to cover for 5 minutes
Strain and blanch Brown
ground pork, add onion, then
ground beef Stir over high heat
until mixture is browned. Add
cooked macaroni. lomatoes and
parsiey. Season with salt and
pepper. Simmer for 2wo 5
