IRRIGATING ALFALFA
When alfalfa is planted in the fall,
the soil usually is dry and it is diffii
cult to get a good stand. Engineers at
the Agricultural Extension Service
say when an irrigation system is
available, apply one-half inch of water
after planting so the seed will germi
nate, then apply one inch of water
per week for two or three times while
the plants are small to insure a good
stand.

“Be a life long or short, its completeness depends upon what it was
lived for . . .”—David Starr Jordan.
Chances are, if you look closely about you, you will observe some one
who is leading an apparently aimless, poorly-planned and completely willy=
nilly existence. This is the individual's own business, of course, and per
haps more often than not it is a way of life which offers if not a maximum
of satisfaction, at least a minimum of effort and care. However, it is not
by any consideration a complete life and is lacking in the personal enjoy
ment of a life which has purpose and direction.
It would appear that if we set honorable goals for ourselves, met the
challenges with integrity, and regularly along the line contributed to the
good of the community of man, our lives cannot help but achieve a certain
completeness. BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, Blakely, Ga. We service any
