Rev. Cecil Wimberley is in Warwick,
Ga.. assisting in a revival meeting in
the Methodist Church there,

that Mrs. Dick Bridges is recuperating
from a recent operation at Holland
Hospital,
Mrs. Miidred McGregor and son,
Hal, of Albany. spent the week end
here with Mrs. McGregor's brother,
Mr. J. L. McArthur.
Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Jordan and
baby daughter, Cheryl, of Atlanta,
spent the week end here with Mr. and
Mrs. J. T. Jordan.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Wasdin announce
the birth of a son, Evan Lorenza, Jr.,
February 16, Clay County Hospital,
Fort Gaines.
Friends of Mrs. Ben Johnston, who
has been undergoing treatment in Bax
ley Clinic, are glad to know that she
has returned to her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Meadors and son,
Todd, have returned to Macon, after
spending several days with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Still.

Postmaster J. Emory Houston’s
friends were glad to see him at the
postoffice for a brief period Tuesday
morning. He is recuperating from re
cent surgery on his eyes.
Friends of T. Sgt. James D. Hester,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Buren Hester,i
will be interested to know that he con
tinues quite ill in the USAF Hospital
at Keesler AFB, Miss.
The Southwest Georgia Medical So
ciety and the Auxiliary will meet at
the Woman’'s Club in Blakely on next
Wednesday, March 15, 7:30 p. m. The
Auxiliary plans a Doctors Day cele
bration.
The annual Second District Royal
Arch Masonic Convention will meet at
Sylvester next Thursday, March 186,
at 3 p. m. Quite a number of the Royal
Arch Masons in this section plan to
attend. All the capitular degrees will
be conferred.
Mr. and Mrs. James Horne an
nounce the birth of a son, Joseph
Michael, March 1, at a Donalsonville
hospital. Mrs. Horne is the former
Miss Veryle Bridges, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. L. E. Bridges.
Mr. and Mrs. Joy Tully, of Colquitt,
attended the auto races at Daytona
International Speedway, Dayton Beach,
Fla., during the week-end. Their in
fant son, Craig, spent the week-end
with his maternal grandparents, Mr,
and Mrs. Julian B. Tooke, Sr.
Rogers Bros. Feed Mill, on Maple
street, was badly damaged by fire at
an early morning blaze Tuesday. Be
lieved to have been started by spon
taneous combustion, the blaze was not
brought under control by the fire de
partment before extensive damage had
been done.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rehder, of
Grayslake. 111, who spent two weeks
in Blakely while Mrs. Rehder under
went treatment for injuries received
in an auvtomobile accident, left Satur
day for Bradenton, Fla, for a' visit
before returning home,
Friends will be interested to know
that William Culbreth, son of Mr. and
Mrs. A. D. Culbreth, of Blakely, after
serving 18 months in Japan as crew
chief of a B-57 jet bomber, has recently
received a rating as staff sergeant; also
after many months of schooling and
study, he has received his high\ school
diploma and an equivalent of two
year college degree.

er, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L.
Weaver, became the bride of Robert
K. Sites, Jr., of Blakely, at the South
side Baptist Church in Troy, Ala., Fri
day, February 24. The Rev. Fred
Brown officiated.
The bride is a teacher at Garrod
Elementary School, Phenix City, Ala.,
and is a graduate of Troy State Teach
ers College.
Mr. Sites is Physical Education In
structor at the Escambia County High
School, Pensacola, Fla., and is a grad
uate of Troy State. He is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Sites, Sr., of Blake
ly.

PILOTS MEET
The Pilot Club of Blakely met for
its regular dinner meeting recently at
Case 27, with Mrs. A. D. Wilkerson,
the president, presiding. |
Mrs. Ralph Scarborough, chairman'
of the co-ordinating committee, was in |
charge of the program. “Friendship
and Service” was the topic of the;
program. i
Each committee chairman made a
report. ‘
Plans for Civic and Bosses nght‘
were discussed. It was announced
that Mrs. Ralph Hobbs, past president'
of the Georgia Congress of Parents'
and Teachers, will be guest speaker'
for this annual event, which has been
set for March 28 at the Blakely Wom
an's Club, |
