Chamber Endorses
Amendment No. 57
In a called meeting of the Blakely
Chamber of Commerce, Tuesday after
noon, October 18, the Directors voted
unanimously to support Amendment
No. 57, which is to be voted on in the
November 6, General Election.
This amendment has to do with Tax
exemption, which is to encourage in-|
dustry to locate in Early county. This
exemption is for only five (5) years.
It is the opinion of the Directors that
the additional business and construc
tion which will come to Early county
due to new industry will more than
offset the tax exemption of five (5)
years, H. M. Richardson, president of
the Chamber of Commerce stated.
Plans were made to work for the
approval of Amendment No. 57. It is
felt that this is one of the most im
portant amendments the voters of
Early county will ever vote on, Mr.!
Richardson said. |
