Kenneth Clark, of Columbus, visited
friends in Blakely this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Swann and
song, Grieg, are visiting relatives in
Blakely,
Mrs. Graham Murray is spending
two weeks in Miami, Fla.,, where she
is visiting friends.
Mrs. E. F. Williams, of Colquitt, was
a recent visitor in the home of her
son, and his family, Mr. and Mrs.
E. W. Williams, and Sherril Williams.
Miss Frances Balkcom of Atlanta,
was in Blakely during the week end
to visit her mother, Mrs. Vactor Balk
com, who is recuperating at Baxley
Clinic,
Spencer Mueller, a student at Gor
don Military College, Barnesville,i
spent the week end here with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Mueller.
Mrs. Coy Watson has returned from
the Cuthbert hospital after undergo
ing surgery and friends will be inter
ested to know that she is improving.
Mrs. Mary Giles and Mrs. Jesse
Williams have returned from a five
weeks' visit with relatives in Missis
sippi and New Orleans, La.
Mrs. Margaret Pollock and family,
visited friends and relatives in Moul
trie, Ga,, thhis past week end. |

Mr. and Mrs, Jimmy Temples an-|
nounce the birth of a baby boy, Jerry
Dale, this past week.
Mrs. J. M. Stovall visited the family
of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Stovall in Blake
ly last week. _
Mrs. Tommy Powell and children,
Glenda and Tommy, of Statesboro,
are visiting their parents and grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hutchins.
Sam Patterson, of Birmingham,
Ala., grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Hartley, was a guest of his grandpar
ents during the week end. Sam has
made news recently because of his
interest and ability to build rockets.

Blakely, has entered Veterans Hospi
tal, in Dublin, for surgery. Anyone

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davenport of
Montgomery, and Mr. and Mrs. 2 G
Wildmus and children, Tom and Edie,
of Gadsden, visited Mrs. Flewellyn
Williams the past week end.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hunt have re
turned from ga trip to California
where they went to carry their son,
Capt. Ben Hunt, who embarked for
service in Korea, and also to visit an
other son, Mr. Warren Hunt and fam
ily.

Mrs. W. H. Alexander and Miss An
nette Alexander have spent the past‘
month in San Antonio, Texas, with‘
Mrs. Alexander's daughter, Mrs. Viv
ian Davidson, who has been criticallyl
ill in a haspital there. Mrs. Davidson
is much improved, but Mrs. Alexander
and Miss Annette plan to spend the
month of November with her in San
Antonio.

i Twins Christened
~ The twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs,
Nick Collins, Connie Lannetta and
Crystal Ann, were christened recent
ly at the First Methodist Church,
Blakely, with the pastor, the Rev.
Cecil Wimberley conducting the cere
mony.
The six month old daughters were
given in dedication by their parents
“Nick” Collins and Priscilla Jones
Collins. They wore white embroidered
batise dresses, with a lace yoke. over
matching batise slips. The dresses
were a gift of Mrs. Alta Mangham.
‘Their knitted bootees were a present
of their great grand-mothers, Mrs. Jess
F. Collins, of Hartford, Ala.
They wore sierling silver crosses,
a present of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Por
ter and Mr, and Mrs. Fletcher Thomp
son.
Standing with parents were the
twins’ grandmother, Mrs. V. L. Col
lins; their maternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sevsla Jones, and their aunt,
Miss Ramoni. Jones, all of Blakely.
4-H Council Meets :
The 4-H County Council met re
cently at the Extension Office with
seven members present. Carol Mon
fort presided.
Plans for the 4-H Banquet were
made to be held at the Blakely Wo
man’s Club on Saturday, January 26.
Committee for the banquet will be
named later. |
The money making project, selling
First Aid Kits, was closed out follow
ing a report on the propect. |
